Last week was my mom and dad’s 44th wedding anniversary. I am taking this throwback Thursday to honor my parents. I was visiting them two weeks ago and we spent an evening going through their wedding album and a wedding keepsake book my mom kept. It was great reading! We went through all the guests who attended their wedding and showers and the gifts they received. About six people went in together on an electric knife. The average gift was $3.00 and one very generous uncle gifted the newlyweds $35!!!
So many elements of weddings remain unchanged throughout the decades. Bridal parties, matching attire, photos, traditions and feelings. Sharing these old memories made for a wonderful night with my aging parents, and has further encouraged me to document this very special time in my own life leading up to our wedding.
Below are some of my favorite pictures from my mom and dad’s wedding day. Best wishes to those who are engaged and wedding planning and congratulations to all my fall couples who are celebrating their wedding anniversaries!
Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!
xoxo,
Tammy
